Welcome

 In Southern United States,

it is the warmest month of the year and very cool nights

for Northern states. It is the harvest time for crops and

that is why Switzerland calls September the harvest month.

In the Northern hemisphere, beginning of September leads

to the beginning of meteorological autumn while it is the

beginning of the meteorological spring in southern hemisphere.

The birthstone for September is the sapphire.

The birth flower for September is the morning glory.

September is the ninth month and the only month with

the same number of letters in its name in English

as the number of the month.

September is the only month in which share prices

have more often fallen than risen.

In America, the first Sunday after the first Monday in September

is celebrated as National Grandparents’ Day.

The last day of September in any year always falls on a different

day of the week from the last day of any other month.

At least six films have had the title ‘September’, which

is more than any other month.

Today in 1752, the Liberty Bell arrived in Philadelphia.

Labor Day History

Always the first Monday in September, Labor Day was the idea of Peter J.

Maguire (although recent research has shown that it might have been his

brother Matthew's idea), a labor union leader who in 1882 proposed a

celebration honoring the American worker. The date chosen was simply

"convenient," according to Maguire, because it was midway between the Fourth

of July and Thanksgiving. Although the day's focus on organized labor has

diminished over the years, the legal holiday still marks the end of summer and

the traditional time for children to return to school.

Time and good friends are two things that become

more valuable the older you get.

When you encounter difficulties and contradictions,

do not try to break them, but bend

them with gentleness and time.

Today's affirmation:

Offer gentle understanding to yourself

Position yourself in love, not fear.

Look behind yourself with forgiveness.

Look forward with festive anticipation.

A pretty view of a double silo barn

A beauty in its day I am sure.

Hi, look what I found! May I keep please?

A chocolate fix for your day.

How lucky we are to have such refreshing foods.

Sure would love to have one of these in working

condition for our back yard.

A cuteness overload for your day.

Cooling off with some silly rubber duckies.

This little light of mine,

I'm gonna let it shine.
