Here you will always find the American flag

waving and the American eagle flying.

What a wonderful feeling

this can be!

Flowers are Nature's messengers -

reminders of an unspeakable beauty.

Nothing is more valuable than your self respect.

When you lose respect for yourself, you have lost

everything. Whatever it takes, and whoever you upset,

do what you know - deep inside - is the right thing.

- Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Everyone should carefully observe

which way his heart draws him,

and then choose that way with all his strength.

- Hasidic Proverb

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread,

places to play in and pray in where nature may heal and

cheer and give strength to the body and soul.

- John Muir

And, as they say, "if these walls could talk."

Appears to be a kitchen with one lonely

cup and saucer left behind.

Peanut Brittle - yum!

Cats, in a favorite place - a window.

What a cute stove.

A very cute hat to go with a cute little girl.

Look at those eyelashes!

Looks like Dad is pooped. Such a busy, busy

picture. I'm wondering how much trouble the

little boy is gonna be in when Dad discovers

the sand did not stay in the turtle sandbox!

Memorial Day

The custom of honoring ancestors by cleaning cemetery grounds and

decorating graves is an ancient and worldwide tradition, but the specific

origins of Memorial Day or Decoration Day as it was first known, are unclear.

In early rural America, this duty was usually performed in late summer and

was an occasion for family reunions and picnics. After the Civil War, America’s

need for a secular, patriotic ceremony to honor its military dead became

prominent, as monuments to fallen soldiers were erected and dedicated, and

ceremonies centering on the decoration of soldiers’ graves were held in towns

 and cities throughout the nation.

For many years, states observed the holiday on different dates. By federal law,

however, Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday of each May to

honor the men and women who died while serving in the military.

Fly the U.S. flag in honor—but at half-staff until noon.

You took the time, thank you!

I hope you all will have a wonderful

holiday weekend. Happy Memorial

Day - bless our military, past,

present and whatever the future

may bring ...... NOTE: There will

be no Daily Dose on Monday.

Now, till another time, be safe in

all you do. Be aware of everything and

everyone around you at all times. A

very good habit .... take care!
